Congratulations to Boya Zhao ’13 who was accepted to the Perimeter Institute’s The International Summer School for Young Physicists (ISSYP). Thirty-eight students are selected out of a worldwide pool of 1000-1500 students.
While participating in this program, Boya will meet with professors who are experts in the field and dive deeper into the world of mathematics and physics. “I’ve always had an interest in physics,” said Boya who currently studies Calculus BC at The Gunnery. “I like mathematics better than science however. I like to challenge myself, and I always feel successful when I complete a (mathematical) problem.”
“The ISSYP is an exciting and challenging two-week program for Canadian and international high school students with a keen interest in theoretical physics and who intend to pursue physics studies at the university level,” said Science Department Chair, Steve Bailey. “I’ve never seen so many Nobel Prize winners in physics at one place in my life.”
