Post Graduate TimelineThis timeline allows us to document the various contact points with incoming Post Graduate students following their enrollment. Each contact point allows us, as a school, to stress continually the importance of character within our school and the PG program. These contact points also allow each individual involved with the Post Graduate to create a meaningful relationship. Relationships are paramount in our ability as advisors, coaches, and faculty to maximize the potential of these young men and women throughout the entire year. July | Letter from PG Advisor stressing character and embracing entire experience. Includes college information, leadership options, questions on fears/excitement, and athletic choices.
Big Brother letter from school which introduces big brother and includes student’s address and contact information. Letter also can stress importance of community at our school and our desire to help them integrate smoothly through this program | September | BBQ with current Gunnery students and faculty
Individual meetings with PG Advisor to discuss goals, stress importance of good first impression, advise on how to make first impression, allow students to ask questions/discuss any concerns, and explain academic expectations.
Sign up PGs for first college office visit immediately following their meeting with PG Advisor. | October/November | Continued progress in college process and working with college office. | November | Post Graduates communicate with PG Advisor to coordinate review sessions for fall trimester examinations. | December | Dinner at Conroy House (Head of School’s home) followed by open discussion led by student leaders. PGs discuss thoughts on first few months at school. | Midterm / End-of-Term | PG Advisor aids in setting up necessary meetings with Post Graduates |
